For a couple of years now I haven't had to configure anything when installing Linux. It just works. Yes, there are some minor glitches from time to time. I have had to get an updated printer driver package directly from HP when the one coming with the distro is too old. I have had to do some config to get my Lightscribe drive to work, but that's about it. When I installed Debian on my laptop in 1999 on the other hand.....now that took a /lot/ of time! :) -- //ceed
