From: Dave on 4 Nov 2009 11:30 I've got a Sun Ultra 27 which has a type 7 USB keyboard, with a UK English layout, P/N 320-1365-03. The Sun is running OpenSolaris 06/2009. drkirkby(a)hawk:~$ cat /etc/release OpenSolaris 2009.06 snv_111b X86 Copyright 2009 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Use is subject to license terms. Assembled 07 May 2009 drkirkby(a)hawk:~$ For reasons I do not know, the keyboard layout randomly changes. Currently, pressing shift-3 produces a '#' character, but 5 hours ago it printed a pound sign, which is what is on the keyboard. Yesterday, the same issue happened, so I logged out, logged back in, and the keyboard mapping was back to what I wanted. It literally seems to change randomly, without me even logging out. I've had the machine less than a week, and it has done this at least three times now. I believe the machine is only supported with a type 7 keyboard. Unfortunately I do not have any other type 7 keyboard to use, though I could try a type 6. The workstation and keyboard were bought new, and I've had them less than a week. I do not have a maintenance contract on the machine. Any thoughts? Dave
