For some time, I've had an account with tm4b.com, in order to generate
SMS alerts. More recently, the texts they send to my Orange phone, and
to my colleague, also on Orange, have not been getting through, although
I still got charged, because their system believed it had submitted the
texts to the destination SMSC. I have not been satisfied with TM4B's
response, so have not topped up my account.

a) Has anyone else used TM4B for sending to Orange numbers and can
report whether their experience was the same as mine or better?

b) Can anyone recommend alternative, reliable providers for low-volume
SMS to use as system alerts? I don't mind whether it uses email or an API.

Cheers
Tony

It's worse than that, tm4b.com website appears to be down
as I write this.
