From: Lester.Chad on 5 Nov 2005 02:15 I am running an HP notebook with MS XP PRO SP2 Media Center. My sys is 6 months old. It has slowed way down and is having several issues that include registry issues and when running scandisk I am prompted to load MS XP PRO SP2 Disk 2. I only have one DVD and when I load it prompts the same message. What is trying to do is copy files to existing DLL Cache. HP only option was reload the OS. Do you have any other ideas? Here is what I see in my event veiwer. An error was detected on device \Device\CdRom0 during a paging operation. loLogMsg.dll 0000: 00680003 00b80001 00000000 80040033 0010: 0000012d c0000010 00000000 00000000 0020: 00187000 00000000 0001fc49 00000000 0030: ffffffff 00000001 c4000040 00010002 0040: 120a2000 40000248 00000000 0000000a 0050: 00000000 8670f248 00000000 866287b8 0060: 00000002 0000030e 00000028 00000e03 0070: 00000002 00000000 00050070 0a000000 0080: 00000000 00000064 00000000 00000000 This error just apperad 15 times in a row: The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block. 0000: 00680403 00b80001 00000000 c0040007 0010: 00000100 c000009c 00000000 00000000 0020: 8ebfb000 00000000 0001a6a6 00000000 0030: ffffffff 00000001 c4000040 00010002 0040: 120a20ff 4000024c 00000000 0000000a 0050: 00000000 8670f248 00000000 866287b8 0060: 00000002 0011d7f6 11000028 0000f6d7 0070: 00000001 00000000 000300f0 0af6d711 0080: 00000000 00000002 00000000 00000000 The SNMP Service is ignoring extension agent key SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IPXMibAgent\CurrentVersion because it is missing or misconfigured. snmp.exe event ID 1101 0000: 00000002 The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NwlnkNb because another computer on the network has the same name. From: Dave Patrick on 5 Nov 2005 09:10 The CD_Rom drive has probably failed. Try reinstalling the application that installed SNMP After fixing the above problems some (or all) of the other may go away. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
