From: Brandon on 20 Dec 2007 15:28 No, they're the same. The odd thing is that I can remote into these machines using the domain admin account . . . but not the primary user account. But I don't see where my domain account is different than the user account (as far as remote desktop goes) -- Brandon http://www.presentationsdirect.com "Les Connor [SBS MVP]" <les.connor(a)DEL.cfive.ca> wrote in message news:E016D1E4-7659-488C-8E67-DDFB85D6B0DA(a)microsoft.com... > Is your netbios name different than your domain name? > > i.e. netbios name "company" and domain name "companyinc"? > > If so, you may need to use different credentials, as in "another user", > and then companyinc\user. > > -- > Les Connor [SBS MVP] > >
From: Brandon on 20 Dec 2007 16:47 For the record . . . . I found two workarounds to this problem (although difficult). 1. I found I was able to connect from a Vista to a Vista machine ONLY after saving a RDP file (from the RD dialog box) and then editing the RDP file with notepad and adding the code "enablecredsspsupport:i:0" (no quotes) to the first line of this RDP file. Doing this brought up some dialog that said that my certificate name didn't match my computer name. But accepting this warning allowed me to connect. 2. I found I was able to connect from a Pre-Vista machine to a Vista machine by selecting the "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure)" option from the Remote Settings Window under My Computer > Properties. This doesn't help with Vista to Vista connections, but seems to help with machines running earlier versions of Remote Desktop needing to connect to Vista. -- Brandon
From: zeiss on 24 Dec 2007 10:53 It should be a vista rdp client problem. Post this problem in vista newsgroup. Maybe you can get more help :) "Brandon" wrote: > For the record . . . .
