We have a number of machines using RWW which work fine. Problem is one
particular laptop on which the RDP ActiveX control seems to have disappeared
and will not download again! User gets message that ActiveX is not
downloaded but no security bar is present to allow them to click on 'Install
ActiveX control'.

I have also just found the same thing with one of our local workstations
which I have tested. Is there something on the Server preventing this
ActiveX from downloading? It is still working fine from a number of other
machines.

Problem I have is that this laptop is now on the other side of the pond with
the client and they cannot get access to the Server (via RWW to the
desktop).

Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Nick

I would try IE Tools> Options > Advanced and now I don't remember
which one :) but it was either the Reset button or the Restore
advanced settings

SteveB / Yaro,

Have now tried all fixes suggested but still won't download.

Is the server running SBS 2003 or SBS 2008?

What OS (including SP level) is the affected client running?

What is the exact error message the client receives when it does not work?

Have you tried all the steps in KB 951607
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951607) including:

Remove the following registry key, if it exists:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\{7584C670-2274-4EFB-B00B-D6AABA6D3850}

Once the registry key is removed, exit and restart Internet Explorer, and
try to connect to the remote computer or start the remote application again.
