Rename Master v2.9.4.2230 - 1039 KB
Rename Master is a FREE utility for renaming large groups of files
with a few clicks. Anyone that has worked with websites, file
archives, or collections of music, videos, or pictures has probably
spent way too much time renaming hundreds of files.
This utility will add, remove, or replace parts of the filename with
ease and also supports renaming via file properties, MP3 tags, JPEG
JFIF and EXIF tags. Batch renaming that's simple to use, yet still
very powerful.
Features
- Intelligent number sorting
- JPEG/MP3 tag support and many more Meta-Variables
- Auto-Preview support
- "Scipts" to save commonly used renaming options
- [*] and [?] command prompt style wildcards for replacing and remove
options
- "Undo" button so a renaming operation can be rolled back
- Floating thumbnail window for viewing pictures and optional
thumbnail file list view
- Optional Explorer integration for right-clicking on folders or using
"Send To"
This version is written in Delphi 6 and should run on any Windows OS -
no install program is needed.

Thanks, Caesar. This program is one that I use on at least a weekly
basis for one reason or another.

you, but when I need it, it's invaluable.

Well, bad news. At least IMO. I gave the newer version a try and:

1. I don't like the way that whenever the program window opens, it's not
full screen and is slightly offset so that part of it is out of the
screen border. This happens whether or not I maximized the program
window the last time I used the program.

2. Despite the website saying that "- no install program is needed", the
..zip file I downloaded includes a "setup.exe" file. I didn't need to run
that file to run the program, but no explanation is given on the website
(that I can find) as to why it's included.

3. The changes to the interface make the program more difficult to use
(IMO).

In short, I removed the new version from my system and went back to an
older (2.7.4) version which has never failed me.

Thanks for the feedback John. I haven't had time to try the new
version yet, but based on what you report, I'm in no hurry.
