From: laptoppcmemory on 26 Jul 2010 03:54 Hi. I have been looking for ages for any info on replacing the dell inspiron 1545 back cover. There's nothing specific to the dell Inspiron 1545 on net but I gathered some info from guides about other models and have so far been able to remove the back cover from the lcd screen. Now I don't know how to remove the little black and white cables that start at top of back cover and go right into the middle of laptop somewhere. I have ordered a new back cover already and since I don't want to open up the whole laptop to find where the black and white little cables are going into, I am thinking I can remove the large square foil covering the back cover and the 2 little cables as shown in picture below (for demonstration purposes only, not my back cover) and replace them on my new back cover. Will that work? Is it ok to remove the silver foil along with both wires and put them back on new cover? I did take out the keyboard and saw the black and white wire going even deeper into the laptop so I have no idea how to open it up and remove them. Please let me know if my idea is ok.
