Any help would ne appreciated. > > TIA > ICU you could try cmossave http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/CMOS-save- CMOSrest.shtml lots of files in the .zip but look for the 3 .com files cmossave cmosrest cmoschk and of course the text file that explains all. Its a dos app really meant for running from a bootable floppy which you would probably need if everything was wiped out, but it does work from a command window. syntax cmossave c:<file.nam> , could not be much simpler. Also a good idea to make your own backup with pencil and paper or a digital camera. From experience, if you are quick with the battery swap, you might not require to restore the settings. -- rich

My ASUS motherboard has a built-in function that can do that (save BIOS settings to the motherboard or save them to a flash drive). -- s|b

I went ahead and made the battery switch already, took less than a minute everything seems to be ok. How would I go about finding out if this board has the feature you mention. I also have another Asus MB P5KPL-CM that might have that feature if I knew where to look.(G) Thanks for the reply much appreciated. ICU
