From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 10 Apr 2010 21:54 Right-click on My Computer & select Properties: What Windows version is displayed in the resulting General tab (e.g., Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1)? Is Automatic Updates enabled and is the computer fully patched at Windows Update? What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 lennox wrote: > If I reinstall windows XP, will that restore iecontlcdll and > iecontdll...Just what do these files control.
