Hello all

I am running SBS 2003 which hosts my exchange/OWA. If domain is x.com and I
have webmail.x.com can I also have test.x.com going to port 80 using host
handling.
Both OWA and test are on the same server. I created an A record for test.

I want users to be able to get to test.x.com via the iusr_server
anonymoususer.

I have tested this on a non-exchange box and it works well but I get 401.1
error when I try to browse the html pages in IIS manager and 400 when I try
from another system

Please advise.

Not sure about exchange/OWA, but the basic rule is that you can have port 80 assigned to only one IP address, on a specific virtual
Web server. Each Web site accessing that server must have a different host header to differentiate it from the other Web sites.

So, you can have x.com, webmail.x.com, and test.x.com all connecting to the same virtual server, either to different Web sites, or
the same Web site. All Web sites should use the same IUSR_server account, which will be assigned automatically under the permissions
tab.

You can create separate A records for each Web site, but the proper way to do it is to create one A record for x.com, representing
the server, and create CNAME records for each subdomain.
