From: Carlos on 12 May 2010 18:47 When trying to connect to any client on the network I get this error Your offer to help could not be completed. Either Remote Assistance is unable to find the remote computer or you do not have permissions to connect to the remote computer. Verify that the computer name and permissions are correct, and then try again. Event logs show this error Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-RemoteAssistance/Admin Source: Microsoft-Windows-RemoteAssistance Date: 12/05/2010 3:20:22 PM Event ID: 9 Task Category: None Level: Error Description: There was a problem interacting with COM object 833E4010-AFF7-4AC3-AAC2-9F24C1457BCE. An outdated version might be installed, or the component might not be installed at all. Any ideas? This was working and I used it regularly. Thanks
From: Cliff Galiher - MVP on 12 May 2010 19:47 Sounds like a firewall issue to me at first glance. SBS has a default firewall group policy to allow remote assistance to work on clients, but if the default group policies have been altered or disabled, this may no longer be working. I'd start with the group policy tools and see what is and is not being applied. -Cliff "Carlos" <Carlos(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:66F9796C-916D-4827-9AD0-63E5DEEAD1B4(a)microsoft.com... > When trying to connect to any client on the network I get this error > > Your offer to help could not be completed. From: Carlos on 14 May 2010 14:19 Hi Cliff, I have compared line by line with another SBS 2008 server that is functioning, and the only difference is a setting I changed to allow users control of the sleep setting "Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Power Management/Sleep Settings" all the other setting regarding firewall/remote assistance are identical.
