How are your clients mappings to the Users share? Are you having their home
directory mapped in thier account settings and if so I assume you changed
that. So no one should be mapping to that old share. Correct?

you need to post your replies back at the top. hard to tell which is
newer. How are the users accessing the users folders? Are they not being
mapped at login?

there not accessing any users folder. The folders are there for future
configuration, but the business data organization is pretty simple. The data
is all in a folder on the server. The users dont use there individual users
folder on the server. In the future we do want to configure folder
redirection but that is why i need to remove the users folder of the d: so i
can use the sbs 2008 console to move the users folder from c: the proper way.

OK first of all you went about creating Users folders the wrong way. You
should have used the wizard. This will create the proper folder levels,
apply the proper permissions and edit their account settings to have them
mapped to the "users\username" share at login. So my first question is "why
did you copy the folderds to D to begin with?" If no one is using the new
user folders on "D" then why are you getting errors that you cannot delete
because the file or folder is in use? You are trying to delete the new
folders you created on "D" correct? If you remove all users and accounts
with the exception of the administrator account no one can use or access
them so you shouldn't get the folder or file is in use error. What you can
try to do is go in and try to delete each individual folder one at a time.
It may be only one or two folders that are in use that is preventing you
from deleting the "Users" folder and sub folders. Once you get that error on
that folder go into Open Files and see who is accessing the folder and
disconnect them.
