From: Graham on 25 Feb 2010 06:18 Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction please. I am following the MS guide v3 and have got an error with "Move Exchange Server Public Folders" section. pg40 When i right click on the public folder store and then click move all replicas I get an error as follows An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. Facility Win32 ID no: c0072746 Exchange System Manager I have ignored and carried on in the meantime and am currently at page 49 Migrate internal website. I cannot find any resolutions for this error on the web. I have tried using ADSI Edit and removed msExchSecureBindings using port 443 from the source server & checked destination but it was not set there. IS this a show stopper or can i ignore. we do not use the public folders here. regards Graham Campbell

From: Graham on 25 Feb 2010 09:41 Yes, I have already read that and checked the settings mentioned, i didn't have to make any changes Thanks "Bill Sanderson" <bill_sanderson(a)msn.com.plugh.org> wrote in message news:358AE455-6CFA-446C-868A-1A87389B26E2(a)microsoft.com... > Have you read this: > > http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2009/06/21/sbs-migrations-troubleshooting-moving-public-folder-replicas.aspx > > > <Graham Campbell> wrote in message > news:uf06$wgtKHA.4752(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction please. >> I am following the MS guide v3 and have got an error with "Move Exchange >> Server Public Folders" section. pg40 >> >> When i right click on the public folder store and then click move all >> replicas I get an error as follows >> >> An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. >> Facility Win32 >> ID no: c0072746 >> Exchange System Manager >> >> I have ignored and carried on in the meantime and am currently at page 49 >> Migrate internal website. >> >> I cannot find any resolutions for this error on the web. >> >> I have tried using ADSI Edit and removed msExchSecureBindings using port >> 443 from the source server & checked destination but it was not set >> there. >> >> IS this a show stopper or can i ignore. we do not use the public folders >> here. >> >> regards >> Graham Campbell >
From: Bill Sanderson on 25 Feb 2010 10:12 I had some trouble with public folders as well in my migration. We also did not use them at all, and in the end I was able to ignore the issue--they did not affect anything shown in any of the best practices scans. There remains an object from the old server in the Exchange best practices scan which I cannot figure out how to get rid of--but in practice it seems to be entirely harmless. Specifically, I see "first administrative group" listed, but with nothing below it. Seems to be harmless, but I would like to get rid of it. <Graham Campbell> wrote in message news:ea$IviitKHA.4796(a)TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Yes, I have already read that and checked the settings mentioned, i didn't > have to make any changes > Thanks > > "Bill Sanderson" <bill_sanderson(a)msn.com.plugh.org> wrote in message > news:358AE455-6CFA-446C-868A-1A87389B26E2(a)microsoft.com... >> Have you read this: >> >> http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2009/06/21/sbs-migrations-troubleshooting-moving-public-folder-replicas.aspx >> >> >> <Graham Campbell> wrote in message >> news:uf06$wgtKHA.4752(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >>> Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction please. >>> I am following the MS guide v3 and have got an error with "Move Exchange >>> Server Public Folders" section. pg40 >>> >>> When i right click on the public folder store and then click move all >>> replicas I get an error as follows >>> >>> An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. >>> Facility Win32 >>> ID no: c0072746 >>> Exchange System Manager >>> >>> I have ignored and carried on in the meantime and am currently at page >>> 49 Migrate internal website. >>> >>> I cannot find any resolutions for this error on the web. >>> >>> I have tried using ADSI Edit and removed msExchSecureBindings using port >>> 443 from the source server & checked destination but it was not set >>> there. >>> >>> IS this a show stopper or can i ignore. we do not use the public folders >>> here. >>> >>> regards >>> Graham Campbell >> > > >
