From: Robyn H on 16 Jun 2010 17:29 We currently have SQL Standard 2008 in a 2 node cluster and are investigating perhaps updating to R2. Does anyone know where I could find a comparison that would give us the benefits of this update?

What parts of SQL Server do you use? Most of the new stuff is on the BI side, and there are very few changes in the Database Engine. But since you are on Standard Edition, there is one tidbit: backup compression is now available in Standard Edition. If you are using Reporting Services, I believe there is a substanial set of changes. Not so much in Integration Services or Analysis Services.
