From: plug bert on 11 May 2010 02:00 Hello All, i noticed something odd after setting up a Samba PDC/domain. Seems that i am able to add machines to the domain by using the root account, but when i log on as root, it has no privileges to modify settings on the computer, particularly the computer name and Workgroup/Domain settings(they're grayed out) i ran a net group "domain admins" /domain at the command prompt, and root is not listed. i then ran net user root /domain, and again it has no membership with the Domain Admins group. However, running net rpc group members "Domain Admins" on the PDC, it lists root as a member. i tried creating a user and added it to Domain Admins; it is listed properly in the Domain Admins group, and has administrative rights on the machine. Is this normal behavior? btw, client machine is a XP with SP3. tia -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba |
