From: Moray Henderson on 20 Apr 2010 11:30 I just noticed, due to problems after migrating a server config and restoring all my Persistent TDB Files, that the group mapping file is named .ldb, not .tdb: # find / -name \*.ldb /var/lib/samba/group_mapping.ldb # file /var/lib/samba/group_mapping.ldb /var/lib/samba/group_mapping.ldb: TDB database version 6, little-endian hash size 10000 bytes This seems to be the case in both samba3-3.3.9-40.el4 and samba3-3.4.7-42.el5 (SerNet builds). Is that deliberate? If so, it would be helpful to mention it on http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/install.html# tdbdocs to warn people that backing up the .tdb files is not sufficient. Moray.
