[Samba] DNS updates fail
Hi We are trying to live without DHCP hardcodings, but it has proved to be hard. When the IP address has changed, running 'net ads dns register' just says "DNS update failed!" even when using domain admin creds. And rejoining the domain updates forward dns but not the reverse. 3.4.6 slow access to shares [SOLVED]
Hello I finally found the problem which was not located on the samba server but on the LDAP server which is our backend. Are there any best practices for this? AIUI all you need to do is set the logon path to "" to disable them, but what happens to the clients?
