Currently, I schedule/track the vacation time of my office members in an
Excell SpreadSheet; however, it obviously does not update thier status like
an an appoinment in Outlook. Thus, I would like to make an Outlook calendar
to track it.

Is it possible for me to "schedule" folks' vacation (say, like an
appoinment) in a single calendar and have it update the availability status
in their outlook (without scheduling me for the same vacay)? ...and how would
I go about it?

Thanks a lot!

you'd need to use VBA code. If you have the right permissions, you could
create appointments on their calendars for them. If the group calendar has
its own mailbox, you could use meeting requests to "invite" the other
person.

I'd use Exchange for this and export their free/busy vacation data from
Exchange into Excel, if necessary. A custom view could be sufficient.
