From: Rajc on 11 Feb 2006 08:22 I am getting the following errors in an portal site : 1) When we go to Home Page -> Site settings > Configure search and indexing Produces the following error (below snapshot): ?Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040D1B.? 2)When we go to Home Page -> Site settings > Manage crawls of site directory Produces the following error (snapshot below) : ?The gatherer index was not initialized. The content index must be remounted. If the index is still not initialized, remove it.? In the event log -> Applications, the following error message is displayed "An exception occurred in the search synchronizer." I think something has gone wrong with the search config. How can we solve the above problem? Any solutions... Thanks

From: Igor Macori on 11 Feb 2006 18:51 Hello, Rajc, read this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827840/en-us The possible cause is: - You change the password of the administrator account that you used to install SharePoint Portal Server. - The Microsoft SharePointPS Search service has not been restarted on the job server. See you Igor Macori http://www.macori.it "Rajc" wrote: > I am getting the following errors in an portal site : > > 1) When we go to Home Page -> Site settings > Configure search and indexing > > Produces the following error (below snapshot): > > ?Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040D1B.? > > 2)When we go to Home Page -> Site settings > Manage crawls of site directory > > Produces the following error (snapshot below) : > > ?The gatherer index was not initialized.
