From: Scotty on 11 Mar 2010 10:00 I'm having a hard time finding a article with instructions on how to install a second 2007 Exchange server within a organization. From what I read in forum posts you just fire up the install the new Exchange server will see the old one and all will be good. I tried the install and it appears that the core part of the install completed but I cannot get the Mailbox Role, Client Access Role and Hub Transport Roles installed. I've traced the failure back to the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service not starting. Looking at the service it always has the status of starting. In the event log I am seeing the following. Log Name: Application Source: MSExchange ADAccess Date: 3/11/2010 8:51:38 AM Event ID: 2114 Task Category: Topology Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: exchange2007.domain.com Description: Process MAD.EXE (PID=2112). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040a02 (DSC_E_NO_SUITABLE_CDC). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185, "Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers. From: John Oliver, Jr. [MVP] on 11 Mar 2010 14:58 Seems your new Exchange Server is having trouble communicating with your DC. Any firewall client on the server? Verify your DNS settings on the Exchange Server? Can you ping your DC by FQDN? Run NETDIAG from Exchange Server, what are the results? -- John Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2009 Microsoft Certified Partner "Scotty" <theprepared(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:d480e3e9-308a-4a95-89ee-5e7a084f4a5c(a)33g2000yqj.googlegroups.com... > I'm having a hard time finding a article with instructions on how to > install a second 2007 Exchange server within a organization.
