From: Xaos on 16 May 2010 23:28 Recently, my internet access for Internet Explorer and other programs was shut off. At first I thought it was a virus, but then I realized that some programs have access and some do not. Here is a list: Program that have internet Access: Thunderbird, Firefox, Active Sync, Teamviewer, Logmein, Avira Programs that Don't have internet Access: Internet Explorer, Napster, Rhapsody, Symantec Live Update, Google Chrome, Opera I don't think it'd a virus, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Chaz
From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 17 May 2010 01:52 Running WinXP SP2 or SP3 or...? What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?
