Ah, mystery partly solved: It seems to be my new laser printer. Wireless, and all. Was able to get rid of it by turning it off, then re-cleaning the caches, delete some extra printers, it was gone from the side bar. Then I go shopping, come home, turn it on, print, and sometime later it appeared. -- john mcwilliams

You're just going to have to deal with it or learn more about customizing your printer, I'm afraid. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. Well, now I am afraid it isn't the printer at all, as this weird server has disappeared and reappeared several times now since then, with nothing being changed on the printer or its drivers, or activity. -- John McWilliams

Do you run virtual machine software? I've seen VMware show up there in my network share list as a PC. -- -=Elden=- http://www.moondog.org |
