When Paint opens the file try doing a "save as" and select JPG and see if you can open this via PS. Cannot open files after downolad? Where are you downloading them from? You should be able to open any image format from within PS by going to File>Open and selecting the "files of type" dropdown menu. If you are familiar with PS on a Mac it should be almost identical in operation to the PC version Only difference is the name of the keys, Control=Command, Alt=Option etc., HTH MH

The screen reverts back to the Recommended Apps/ Browse window but no PS is listed in order to "Always use program...". Regards.
