Reason was bits of cd jamming the mechanism. As it was twisted up it also took out the plastic paper prsence sensor arm, so the machine only tried to run in manual mode. In my opinion, even if the machine claims to have a facility for shredding semi-rigid plastic like cards and cd's , its still risky. That experience showed me how much damage those bits can cause. Fortunately in my case no gears were stipped.but it only takes a shred of cd to get into the gear train and that's the shredder fit for the tip. -b |
