Looks to me like a label stuck on. Suggests it might be a prototype and
they used the label to cover a hole where the focus assist usually goes.

BTW Some one else mentioned a D800/D900 to me yesterday. However given
the rate Nikon are releasing models nothing is a surprise.

I'm amused by the comment under the image suggesting it doesn't look like
Photoshop. I think it's the worst PS work I've seen. In fact most of the
images on the page look appalling.

I don't think it is photoshop either. IT is what it looks like. A label
stuck on over a hole.

Damn!
That looks as if it was printed on an address label, trimmed to size
and stuck on, without any thought to placement.
You would think they might have used a new lens such as the AF-S Micro
Nikkor 60mm f2.8 G ED, rather than the AF Micro Nikkor 60mm f2.8 D they
have mounted.
