Next: How to maintain consistency with MFC-Macros
From: DanB on 19 May 2010 02:35 uno, I don't get all this. I, going back 10 years, never used the 'MFC' way. I posted many years ago, 'WalkRadioButtons'. A DDX method if you will, but with my constraints, attach to an enum if you want. There is no black and white about DDX, You can write your own, once, as part of a lib, and use it forever. Yes Joe, if you are writing for the brain dead, I understand your thinking. Thankfully, some of us could care less for those types. I really don't. When I die I really hope someone that isn't brain dead takes up the slack. If not, I'm still dead! The DDX works really cool if you let it. Like I use it, like it was intended, with a database/form interface. Throw and show a balloon where you need to fix and the client doesn't have to do anything but edit as the balloon suggests. I'll do 'SubDataExchange' if there are multiple dataset incidences, there are no 'global' rules about 'DoDataExchange'. Consider a dialog with 'Apply' and the caller shows the change in the background. I think DDX works well if you think beyond how it can be poorly used. I think it is a clever mechanism that would have settled pretty much where it is now for those that bother to think. You can't cure stupid. But you can cure ignorant. That is why I keep trying to learn new tricks! Best, Dan. (last week's challenge) <http://lakeweb.net/downloads/RaVpath.zip> I've been to the MS site, I doubt I will read there. Miss you guys unless there is a listserver started. I could start one, but I don't know if it would be the same... |
