Hi,

I am experiencing a peculiar SimEvents problem to do with gates components and I wonder if anyone else have had a similar problem.

For a system I am modelling I have crated a base model, executed it and noted the behaviour, i.e. the graphs displayed in the inserted scopes. Then I started refining the model topology by adding more components but choosing parameters' values that will not affect the model behaviour (the graphs displayed in the inserted scopes). However, at some point I noted that the scopes output changed. After some experimentation I found out that when I insert the next gate component, event if it is constantly opened, the model behaviour changes. The more peculiar thing is that even when I drag and drop an extra gate in a properly behaving model, without connecting the gate, the model behaviour changes. The model has 5 gates and when I placed the 6th it starts miss behaving.

Any idea if there is a some kind of special feature of SimEvents to do with gates?

Cheers,
Zlatko.

Hi Zlatko,

The presence of a completely unconnected and independent gate block in your
model should not change the output from other blocks. However, without
looking at the model I cannot be sure of any diagnosis.

Try using the SimEvents Debugger (SEDEBUG) to step through your model to see
what is causing the change in behavior. The SimEvents help has instructions
and some examples of how to use the debugger.

If that does not answer the question, could you open a technical support
help ticket and attach the model to it so we can take a look?

Thanks,
