From: Enrico on 18 May 2010 15:54 I'm not sure whether SimMechanics can capture a rotating body that might have the ability of contact at alternating points depending on torque. For example, imagine a block riding between two walls - if the block torques one way then 1 set of opposite corners touches and if it torques the other way then another set of corners touches. I'm not sure if it captures multi-body contact. ------------------------------- ------------------- | | | | -------------------- ---------------------------------- <----> Motion direction of block and CW & CCW rotation Is the program 1) intelligent enough to capture which corners are contacting and 2) applying the correct frictional directions Otherwise it seems very similar to me just rewriting the EOM (loop eqns, force eqns) for the linkage and manually programming the various cases that are required to be considered. TIA Enrico
