I have noticed a significant slow down in my wireless connection to my
13" MacBook recently.

I used an Airport Express to extend my wireless network and when I ping
the unit I get times ranging from 1 ms to 490 ms and above.

It doesn't seem to matter whether my laptop is 6 inches or 6 feet away
from the unit.

I'm assuming something has got confused somewhere along the line but not
even sure where to start looking.

Any ideas?

You could play the 'change the wireless channel number' game. Always worth a
try.

I found I got slow transfers on channel 6, but channel 1 was fine.

It's strange but the rest of the network runs at normal speed even
though there are other wireless signals around it. At this end of the
house this is the only network that can be seen.
