From: Jonjo on 3 Jan 2010 19:29 I selected a number of folders to copy to disc using sonic record now. When I clicked on burn I got a message "Please insert an appendable data disc and try again". I tried a couple of different discs, but both caused the same response. I haven't had this problem when I have burned discs before. My OS is xp home edition. My computer is an HP Pavilion f1703. Can someone explain why I am getting the above message even though there is a disc in the drive?
From: Scott M. on 3 Jan 2010 20:48 How does this question relate to general questions about Microsoft's ".NET" (a.k.a. "dotnet") programming platform? -Scott "Jonjo" <Jonjo(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:37980F96-F6D7-44B6-8D0A-B8612126A131(a)microsoft.com... >I selected a number of folders to copy to disc using sonic record now. >When > I clicked on burn I got a message "Please insert an appendable data disc > and > try again". As Scott has pointed out, you've asked your CD burner/Windows XP question in a discussion group for .NET programming questions. Here's a way to find a Windows XP discussion group. Try this. http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/ In the tree on the left, open English, then open Windows. In the Windows subcategory, find and open the Windows XP subcategory. Find a group there for your question.

I think people see the "microsoft.public" and the "general" and ignore the bit in between. Perhaps they think "dotnet" sounds a bit like "internet":-) mick
