From: barcaroller on 12 Aug 2010 22:54 I have a MacBookPro + Airport Extreme, but no iPod/iPhone and no Airport Express. I've been thinking about getting AirTunes + Airport Express + my old stereo system, but I recently stumbled upon Sonos which "appears" to be a better solution (I can move the speakers anywhere in the house). Has anyone here had experience with Sonos and the Mac? Furthermore, if I were to add an iPad (not iPod) to my setup, would I be able to stream music from the iPad to the speakers. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Couldn't you move the Airport Express anywhere in the house as well? > Has anyone here had experience with Sonos and the Mac? I have looked at Sonos solutions in the past and wondered the same thing. Please do report back here if you try it out! -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. The whole point of the Airport Express is you can send music from one Airport Express / Extreme / computer to another Airport Express wirelessly to play through speakers connected to it. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. You may be right. My understanding was that I could only plug an entire audio system into the Airport Express, not just speakers. On the other hand, I thought that, with Sonos, I could have wireless speakers all over the house. From your repsonse, and Michelle's, I could be wrong on both counts. I will need to investigate this further and maybe visit a couple of stores. |
