Of course... 10.6 SnowLeopard is also '10.5 or later'....:-)

You mean 10.4.x Tiger.:-)? - I don't know about what the earlier
versions could do. But the one time I tried it it was very unstable. I
tried it on my MacPro with 10.5.6 on the 'host' and a MDD dual 1ghz with
10.4.11 as the 'slave' machine.

No doubt that using the network setup (eventually plus the CD/DVD
sharing enabled) I give and using fx. VLC as the playback app on the
'slave' will give a much better and more smooth playback.
