From: Danny Shisler Danny on 7 Oct 2006 15:01 I've got a strange tablet pc pen problem with Vista RC1: The pen works fine on the login screen but as soon as I get onto the main desktop, it stops working. I can use a normal mouse and keyboard with no problems. Strangely, when a 'Windows need your permission to continue' dialog box appears (e.g. when I'm opening a management console) and the rest of the screen is greyed out except for the dialog box, the pen starts working again. Any ideas? I'm using a Fujitsu Siemens Stylistic ST5020D. It worked fine with Vista Beta 2 and I've tried using the latest Wacom drivers but this hasn't changed the behaviour at all. TIA.

From: Danny Shisler on 9 Oct 2006 13:37 No I didn't upgrade from XP. I've just rolled back to XP because I need the machine for a demo in the next few days but I'd really like to get Vista RC1 working on it. Is it better to upgrade from XP? What difference would creating a new user make? Thanks. "Josh Einstein" wrote: > Did you upgrade from XP? > > What if you create a new user account. From: Josh Einstein on 9 Oct 2006 16:48 I don't really know what difference a new user would make, but since you said it worked at the logon desktop (and the secure UAC desktop), but not when you logged in, it could be that something in the user-specific part of the registry or some application running after logon is interfering with the pen. By creating a new user account, you can start with a fresh set of settings. -- Josh Einstein / Tablet PC MVP Einstein Technologies, LLC ----------------------------------------------------- Tablet Enhancements for Outlook 3.0 Now Available Unleash the potential of Outlook on your Tablet PC, Origami, or UMPC.
