From: Ben W Ben on 14 May 2010 09:52 I'm getting a very odd error, I've tried reinstalling Word 2007 but to no avail. When I open documents which I've previously created which have bullet points (regular ones) they have turned into arrows. However, when I open that SAME document on another PC they remain as regular bullet points. There is another more serious problem with the inbuilt equation editor throwing up weird symbols on the PC it was made on, but not another another PC running word - the SAME document. (I.e. works when opened on other PCs) So there's clearly a problem with my Word setup - help PLEASE I have exams next week and this is a real pain.
From: Stefan Blom on 14 May 2010 09:56 Since the error is on a particular computer, I'd suspect that a missing or damaged font is causing it. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Ben W" <Ben W(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:08E4AE66-E8C6-49EC-AC40-126445B852B4(a)microsoft.com... > I'm getting a very odd error, I've tried reinstalling Word 2007 but to no > avail. > > When I open documents which I've previously created which have bullet points > (regular ones) they have turned into arrows. > > However, when I open that SAME document on another PC they remain as regular > bullet points. > > There is another more serious problem with the inbuilt equation editor > throwing up weird symbols on the PC it was made on, but not another another > PC running word - the SAME document. From: Ben W on 14 May 2010 10:41 Stefan, You are a genius! I owe you tremendous thanks. I downloaded symbol.TTF from the internet (this was the missing font) and all is well again! Thank you again, really saved my life! (I wonder how the font managed to uninstall itself :S) Best wishes, Ben "Stefan Blom" wrote: > Since the error is on a particular computer, I'd suspect that a missing or > damaged font is causing it. > > -- > Stefan Blom > Microsoft Word MVP > > > > "Ben W" <Ben W(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:08E4AE66-E8C6-49EC-AC40-126445B852B4(a)microsoft.com... > > I'm getting a very odd error, I've tried reinstalling Word 2007 but to no > > avail. > > > > When I open documents which I've previously created which have bullet points > > (regular ones) they have turned into arrows. > > > > However, when I open that SAME document on another PC they remain as regular > > bullet points. > > > > There is another more serious problem with the inbuilt equation editor > > throwing up weird symbols on the PC it was made on, but not another another > > PC running word - the SAME document.
