From: Glenn @ Maranatha on 11 Oct 2006 14:06 Last week I was goingt o move a mailbox from one mailbox store to another and when I right click on a user the following error message comes up: The server is not operational. Facility: Win32 ID no: 8007203a Exchange System Manager Seems that something is broken but I can't figure out what it is. Any ideas as to what is wrong and is there a fix floating around out there somewhere? Thanks in advance. -- Glenn MCP A+ Network Admin MBBC

From: Glenn @ Maranatha on 11 Oct 2006 17:23 The first article could not be found, the second gave no real help? Though this second article does bring up something that happened recently... We had major issues with our DNS server. I had to recreate all dns records. My exchange record was recreated and pings by name ok, so not sure if that in fact is part of the problem or not. -- Glenn MCP A+ Network Admin MBBC "daveberm" wrote: > Have you looked here... > > http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=325322 > > Here is another article that points to DNS issues... > > http://www.mcse.ms/message2300609.html > > David A. From: daveberm on 11 Oct 2006 23:26 Sorry, I meant to point to this article... http://www.petersblog.org/node/740 This article has you check to make sure your zones jive with what AD thinks your zones should look like. Also, make sure that Exchange is only pointing at internal DNS servers and not some External DNS server your ISP provides. I would also run DCDIAG and NETDIAG to see if there are any issues. Probably a good idea to run EXBPA as well... http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/downloads/2003/analyzers/default.mspx The other article from MS comes up fine for me. Just Goolge your error code and you will find it. It most certainly has to do with DNS, as this is what the other people had problems with and you stated that you recently had major problems with DNS. David A.
