From: RD707 on 15 Jan 2010 11:46 As a new TechNet Subscriber, I have not been able to locate Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Advanced Server for downloading from TechNet. I've been told by the people at TechNet support that this was due to some java related settlement that had occurred in the past, and that if I could find TechNet subscribers who were fortunate enough to have downloaded it from TechNet prior to the settlement, I could legally obtain it from them. Are there any TechNet Subscribers in this forum that would be able to provide me a copy of the Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Advanced Server .iso files along with their associated product keys? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

And secondly the keys for any Windows 2000 Pro or Server or anything to do with 2000 is not valid anymore and will not work since MS has shut the door on everything that is 2000. That was the agreement with MS\Sun and the DOJ. You cannot even download SR1a. It will not install -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. There is no "activation" with 2000 and no part of the installation process uses the Internet or communicates with MS. There are still Windows2000 machines in service,...so it is smart for developers to test if their products work on 2000. The DoJ is not going to come into our businesses and take our 2000 boxes away from us. I don't think I have any Subsrciption Disks or ISO's,...but getting the disks from another subscriber should not be a problem as long as the person uses their *own* Key and the "giver" does not give their Key with it. -- Phillip Windell The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. -----------------------------------------------------
