From: isw on 28 Jun 2010 14:00 Because of a peculiar interaction between the EXIF "Orientation" info, and how Preview and iPhoto deal with it (this is, obviously, on a Mac), I'd like to tell my camera (a Panasonic DMC-LZ5), not to set the Orientation value, but to always leave it at "1". Is there some way to do that? Isaac

Not AFAIK. You'll either need a less-sophisticated camera, or perhaps a camera that supports CHDK. Another option would be to use software to strip out the EXIF data you don't want. -- Best regards, John Buying a dSLR doesn't make you a photographer, it makes you a dSLR owner. Press [MENU/SET] to close the menu I did that; it doesn't work. Or more correctly, it does precisely what it says: "The pictures are displayed without being rotated". It does not change the EXIF entry (which is what I want), it just prevents the *camera* from honoring it. Isaac

If I were you, I'd not remove the flag in-camera. You'll always find software to remove it later, but no software to put i back. -- Bertrand
