Prev: what does an "invalid sam id" meen in Outlook 2007?
Next: is it possible to have kalender open together with the innboks
From: espedair on 3 Dec 2009 08:28 I have a repeat complaint from a senior PA in our organisation. This revolves around outlook meetings. We use Outlook 2003 client and Exchange 2003 server. The issue is that of the pa organising meeting requests which are for senior manager or executives. These are only meetings and not appointments. We have repeated examples where the meetings do not appear as tentative. Could someone tell me exactly how this should work? I was under the impression that the emails had to be opened for the meetings to appear as tentative but can someone confirm? Many thanks
From: Diane Poremsky [MVP] on 3 Dec 2009 12:52 provided the appointment remains in the inbox, outlook 'sniffs' for appointments and adds them to the calendar as tentative. it usually happens with seconds of getting the message but can take a little longer. If this is not working for you, try restarting outlook with the cleansniff switch. (See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/commandlines.htm for help with switches.) See http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA011276781033.aspx - sniffer capability is about halfway down. This can be disabled on exchange 2007 and 2010 but AFAIK, not on exchange 2003, so it should work for you. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: mailto:dailytips-subscribe-request(a)lists.outlooktips.net EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: mailto:EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQUEST(a)PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM Poll: What version of Outlook do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=27072 "espedair" <espedair(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EB71B9F6-275C-4AAB-984B-89DF63093E67(a)microsoft.com... > I have a repeat complaint from a senior PA in our organisation.
