In theory I'd agree. However I just bought a Tesco fone for about �16
Nokia 1280 and bought �20 top up. This they trebled to �60 (bonus must
be used in a month) AND I can list five special numbers and get 50%
discount on them so texts work out about 3p.

Best heavy user PAYG tariff is Three Flat 12, with stretch �25 added
which triples the mins and or text, and includes 100 3 to 3 mins,
with 150mb of data, and free Skype.

Unfortunately as this tariff is now ringfenced, you'd have to buy
one for transfer from an existing user
