I have it. The group for Agent is not (news.software.readers), that is for Xnews and others less popular than Agent. The big Agent group is (alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent). But the idea is a good one, you should always refer to the appropriate group when asking about your newsreader, they know all about it. They can explain what you should do in Agent to re-download the thread. I probably would just delete the group, resubscribe to the group, and then get the headers again. -- > It's the only one I've ever used. I have to agree that it's not > very user friendly. I just used Google to search for "PeoplesChoice" and then instead of searching the web, I picked "groups" from the pulldown list (more) and then sorted by date.

I don't know how you did that Google groups has an archive which has an advanced search function which is not as strong as it once was, but still very useful. If you go to the GG search front door http://groups.google.com/grphp?hl=en&tab=wg&q= .... there is a link to the Advanced search in the upper right - Advanced Groups Search http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en&q=&hl=en& Google Groups Advanced Search .... which has a number of fields which can be populated where you can input your From address in the author section and this group in the group section and get this result http://peek.snipr.com/zz5lw That isn't exactly the specificity used for the result above, but there are more than one ways to use GG search and its advanced features. -- Mike Easter

They discuss Xnews as well as 40tude Dialog, Xananews, MesNews, SuperGravity, or WHATEVER newsreader. It is not for a specific newsreader. That's NOT the title of that newsgroup. However, assuming it is active, a newsgroup specifically for your particular newsreader would probably yield better results. Considering Forte Inc is a commercial busines that relies on sales of its payware version of Forte Agent, it seems awfully chinzy that they don't provide their own support forum.

I make it one big pane simply by closing the others, then maximize it on my 26 inch monitor. Forte Agent is a good newsreader with a big following.
