From: E®!k /!sser on 4 Jan 2010 13:59 As there is no standard function for the week_of_year, I am calculating it myself. But during checking the values and comparing them with the weeknumber Outlook gives me, I come across something very strange. Outlook does not give me a week nr. 1 in the year 2013!!! Januari starts with week 53 (same as this year) , but the next week is weeknumber 2 !! Do I miss something or is this just a bug in Outlook? all comment welcome, Erik

From: Geoff Schaller on 4 Jan 2010 18:22 Erik, This is a notoriously inconsistent concept that almost no one gets right. And what is 'right' anyway. Different countries and different religions all have different meanings and there are even different uses to confuse the matter. I try never to use it. From: Dave Francis on 5 Jan 2010 03:31 Hi Erik, There is an ISO international standard (for what that is worth :o) but Outlook does not follow it. In fact Outlook 2007 is wrong for most of my clients this year. The standard has 2 simple rules - weeks start on a Monday and the first week in the year always contains 4th January. That still leaves you a messy test for the period 29th Dec to 3rd Jan to see which year you are in. But since there is no universal answer to this problem (some of my clients who work in plastics insist weeks start on a Saturday), I've taken to creating a calendar table that is built automatically according to local rules. It has the advantage of being visible outside of VO to report writers, etc. No real answer but HTH, Dave Francis "E!k \/!sser" <nospam(a)nospam.com> wrote in message news:7qes3tFo5iU1(a)mid.individual.net... > As there is no standard function for the week_of_year, I am calculating it > myself. > But during checking the values and comparing them with the weeknumber > Outlook gives me, I come across something very strange. > Outlook does not give me a week nr. 1 in the year 2013!!! > Januari starts with week 53 (same as this year) , but the next week is > weeknumber 2 !! > Do I miss something or is this just a bug in Outlook? > > all comment welcome, > > Erik > > > > >

Dave, Geoff, David, Thank you all for your comment. I am very happy it was not a problem in my code! regards, Erik "Dave Francis" <dave(a)suilven.com> schreef in bericht news:7qgbn7Fao8U1(a)mid.individual.net... > Hi Erik, > > There is an ISO international standard (for what that is worth :o) but > Outlook does not follow it.
