From: Ridge Kennedy on 23 Dec 2009 11:08 Dear All, I'm sure this has been dealt with far too often here. I'm finding lots of bits and pieces of information all over the web on the topic, but I'd like to "ask the experts" for advice on best places to start -- and inquire about one thing I have observered so far. We're moving to Office 2007 and I'm charged with managing the transition of our macros -- not that many, but a few and worth preserving -- to the new environment. In Word 2003, we have about a half dozen toolbars, each with between 4 and 8 macros. I'm looking for the sleast stressful way to migrate these capabilities. The macros and toolbars are in a template called NJAddIns.dot that is automatically downloaded to all user workstations into the word startup directory. What I've noticed, is that a group of the macros -- one of the toolbars -- NJWordTools -- appears in the Ribbon in Office 2007 "add-ins" menu with a label "custom toolbars" at the bottom. I'd like to know how Office 2007 decided to pick that particual toolbar to display. I'd also appreicate pointers to the best sources of information for muddling through this process. From what I've read so far, there is no easy answer. But A few pointers from the MVPs here will surely help. Sincerely, Ridge (in New Joisey)
From: Doug Robbins - Word MVP on 23 Dec 2009 19:47 I would suggest that you do it properly and take a look at http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Customize_Ribbon.htm and the other items to do with Ribbon Customization on Greg's website. It is really not that difficult and will end up giving you a better result. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis. From: Graham Mayor on 24 Dec 2009 01:38 While I agree with Doug that the best way forward is to create a Word 2007 add-in with your own ribbon tab with access to the macros, Word 2007 should pick up the toolbars from Word 2003 templates if the templates are saved with the toolbars floating - see http://www.gmayor.com/Toolbars_in_word_2007.htm. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> "Ridge Kennedy" <rkennedy(a)njscpa.org> wrote in message news:%23cQUWp%23gKHA.1824(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Dear All, > > I'm sure this has been dealt with far too often here.
