From: biermanoski on 16 Apr 2010 05:39 Hi, My TouchPad Pointer has recently become Erratic. Notebook computer wasn't used for some time and when I turned it on I noticed the Pointer problem. I clicked on the 'Mouse' Icon in the Control Panel and changed the device settings many times adjusting the Sensitivity from light to heavy, etc. And even went back to a earlier Restore Point - and nothing has worked. The pointer is jerky and stops suddendly or jumps when I am using My TouchPad. Hope someone can offer a suggestion even though the computer is over 6 yo old. -- Thank you, Jean

From: Bob I on 16 Apr 2010 12:07 Hardware problem, corroded contacts perhaps? Disassemble and reseat the touchpad connector, or have someone qualified do it. biermanoski wrote: > Hi, > > My TouchPad Pointer has recently become Erratic. Some of which may have affected the way it interacts with the Touchpad. Look on your computer manufacturer's webpage under "support" and see if there is a newer/updated touchpad driver that you can install on your computer. Alternatively, see if you can determine the manufacturer of the touchpad in the Device Manager and search that manufacturer's website for an updated driver. HTH, John
