From: gtr on 7 Feb 2010 15:34 I just migrated my wife from an old PPC iBook to an old G5 iMac. Computer worked fine for a couple of days. Periodically it wouldn't wak up from sleep and had to be rebooted. Now it's hibernation seems more permanent. While asleep we hit keys and wiggle mice. Nothing. Hold down the button to turn off. Push the button to turn on. It makes no "chime". The light comes on, the screen is blank. One minute later it goes into hyper-fan mode. We turn it off again. Repeat until going into a cussing fury. I tried booting in safe mode (shift key) and clearing pram (opt-cmd-P-R) but never got a chime. Never saw a blue-screen, turning gear or desktop. There are no devices plugged in but the keyboard out mouse. Ideas? -- Dogmatism kills jazz. Iconoclasm kills rock. Rock dulls scissors.
