From: Automutt on 4 Jul 2010 21:22 UN takeover of Jerusalem by ~Automutt UN takeover of Jerusalem Due to the inability of both sides to achieve peace or normalisation of behaviour, the middle east conflict begs for a new solution. I propose a takeover by the UN of Jerusalem and her surrounds, and the establishment of The Jerusalem Council, consisting of four representatives from the Jewish people, four from the Palestinians and four UN appointed Representatives, representing the international community. This 12 seated Council will control Jerusalem and administer the city as the first truly International City. A city for all peoples and all nations. Jerusalem belongs to all peoples and all nations and should not be in the hands of any one race or one peoples, she is a gift to all believers and should not be squabbled over like a toy, by two peoples with the inability to achieve peace or normalisation of behaviour. The middle east conflict is predicated on the belief that Jerusalem belongs to one race or one peoples, this is false and causes all the problems associated with our current situation. The war on terror is also laden with this falsehood of one people ownership of this city, this crux being the point of contention for many involved in the clash of cultures known as the war on terror. Much chaos and resentment flows fom this crux which could all be removed by an United Nations takeover and establishment of The Jerusalem Council. Giving Jerusalem the ability to be at peace and the gifting of her for all peoples and nations and predominately the focal point for all believers worldwide. Jerusalem deserves this. UN takeover of Jerusalem now... DRB http://automutt.deviantart.com/

The middle east conflict is predicated on the belief > that Jerusalem belongs to one race or one peoples, This is erroneous. The Middle East conflict results from the fact that the Arabs consider ALL of Israel to be "Arab land." If you read the Hamas charter, which is readily available online, you will see that a fundamental principle is that Israel has no right to exist. And negotiation is a waste of time. This is not just talk. It is the statement of the fundamental principles of Hamas, in the same way that the U. S. constitution plays that role in the United States. Hamas is supported by a large fraction not only of Palestinians, but other Muslims as well. Making Jerusalem an "open city" would not change much. this is false > and causes all the problems associated with our current situation. > > The war on terror is also laden with this falsehood of one people > ownership of this city, this crux being the point of contention for > many involved in the clash of cultures known as the war on terror. > Much chaos and resentment flows fom this crux which could all > be removed by an United Nations takeover and establishment > of The Jerusalem Council. Not needed. Parsimony is the only solution. #1: Palestine made a state, #2: diplomatic relations with Israel established (i.e. embassies), #3: Israel gets all of Jerusalem as its capital, #4: Palestine ALSO gets all of Jerusalem as its capital, and #5: each cedes an embassy district in its capital to the other, comprising half the capital city. Job done. The other is even simpler and will be the one carried out if the humans race can't shape up -- the solution invoked in the spirit of Alexander's treatment of the Gordion Knot problem -- I get ownership of everything; there and everywhere else. |
