Having to plug this into an existing USB port was a very specific question I asked the tech guy. He told me that it plugs into the mobo. (which I have to have because my PC only has two PCI slots and they are full) The reviews at Amazon also say you run it thru the computer and out the back.

There doesn't seem to be any way to contact Amazon to verify what will come. If it is wrong Amazon will always take it back, but there would be a shipping charge for that. It may still be safer to buy from Cables To Go and make them explain exactly what I will get. The Cable To Go guy told me the part number for Amazon like he really didn't care where the sale went.

Perhaps the 4 port product at the Cables place has been 'modified' from the product which is shown on the Cables site and the Amazon site. The Cables guy can only talk about the product he has in his place -- he cannot 'guarantee' what kind of product you are going to get from Amazon. Maybe the Cable people 'dumped' some product to such as Amazon in order to make changes in the cable issue for what they now stock. It seems pretty clear to me that the Cable people can put either/or type of cable on their bay products (if they were so inclined) as they show (and talk about) a different kind of cable on the 2 port bay than on the 4 port bay. You could also shop around and see if you can find a cable adapter for mobo connector to the plug on the Amazon model. Given the difference in price and shipping, if the plug/mobo adapter were cheap enough you would still be ahead. -- Mike Easter
