Jack, Maybe it is not formatted and/or it needs a drive letter to be assigned to it. Right click on your Computer icon on the desktop and choose manage. Left pane, Storage, Disk Management. Check your USB drive status on the right pane. See if it is formatted and/or it has a drive letter.
