Just to build on that...

LTS versions are released every 2 years. They are supported (security
patches, updates) for 3 years on the desktop and 5 years on the server.
Also, in theory, LTS editions should be focused on stability.

Otherwise, Canonical releases a "normal" Ubuntu every 6 months and
they're supported for 18 months. Their general focus is to get the
"latest and greatest" included.

Nope, never have. It looks like it's supposed to group four common
admin/prefs under one gui:

- application & update repository mgmt
- login preferences
- gnome preferences
- compiz (3d, etc visual effects).

Looks good & straight-forward. Before I invested in learning how to use
it, I'd want to take a look at how long it's been around & what its dev
cycle is like. Feedback looks largely postive.

The download is an iso-file that I guess most people burn to a CD or DVD
depending on the version.
