Just to build on that... LTS versions are released every 2 years. They are supported (security patches, updates) for 3 years on the desktop and 5 years on the server. Also, in theory, LTS editions should be focused on stability. Otherwise, Canonical releases a "normal" Ubuntu every 6 months and they're supported for 18 months. It looks like it's supposed to group four common admin/prefs under one gui: - application & update repository mgmt - login preferences - gnome preferences - compiz (3d, etc visual effects). Looks good & straight-forward. Before I invested in learning how to use it, I'd want to take a look at how long it's been around & what its dev cycle is like.
