Next: KB951847 update failures for .NET Framework Family Ver 2 - 3.5
From: Sharie on 30 Jun 2010 15:20 Tried to do updates for .Net Framework and the following 2 would not install: "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5SP1 and .NET Framework 2.0 PS2 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP. . " and "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 Security Update for Windows 2000 and Windows XP (KB979906)". I have uninstalled all .Net (1.1, 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 & 3.5 SP2) and rebooted. I then ran Microsoft Update to see if it showed and updates available and there was one for .NET Framwork 2.0, so I knew the un-install failed. I then ran Aaron Stebners clean up tool which stated it had cleaned up successful. I then downloaded the .NET 1.1 and installed, installed .NET 1.1SP1 and ran Microsoft Update and the update failed again. I am at a loss of what to do now. I have not tried to re-install any other versions of .NET which I need as well. Any help would be appreciated!!!

BTW if an update really is "successfully installed" and there is not something undoing that I would just mark the update to be hidden. Eventually it might not be offered incorrectly any more. > I have not tried to re-install any other versions of .NET which I need as > well. Supposedly those would be independent of .NET 1.1 > Any help would be appreciated!!! HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- |
